The Mercatus Center at George Mason University is 100% privately funded.  Every dollar invested in the Center comes from an individual, foundation, or business.

In fiscal year 2007, 46% of the Mercatus Center's $9.8 million budget came from individuals around the country.  A total of 47% came from foundations, while 17% came from businesses.

And where does this money go?  At the Mercatus Center, we are working hard to invest as much as possible of supporters' dollars into the programs that turn ideas into actions, keeping management and fundraising costs down.  A full 81 cents of each dollar invested in the Mercatus Center actually goes into Mercatus Center programs.
