Peter Klein

Biography
Peter G. Klein is a professor of economics at the University of Missouri at Columbia. Previously, he was a professor of economics at the University of Georgia, and while there, served on the President's Council of Economic Advisers in the Clinton administration. Dr. Klein's research focuses on internal organization and the boundaries of the firm, with applications to corporate diversification, innovation, and financial institutions. At the Council he was primarily responsible for formulating and evaluating policy on industrial organization, regulation, and antitrust.
Dr. Klein's research has appeared in Economic Inquiry, the Journal of Law, Economics, and Organization, the Encyclopedia of Law and Economics, Electricity Journal, and other academic and professional publications. He is also associate editor of The Collected Works of F. A. Hayek.
Dr. Klein earned his PhD in economics from the University of California at Berkeley and his BA in economics from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill.
