A Peculiar Path: The Rise of the West in a Global Context
| Start: | Thursday, April 7, 2005 05:00 PM |
| End: | Saturday, April 9, 2005 05:00 PM |
| Location: | Mercatus Center Board Room |
This conference is part of a series of workshops sponsored by the Mercatus Center's Social Change Project to provide input to important manuscripts that will enhance our understanding of social change. A Peculiar Path: The Rise of the West in Global Context, 1500-1850 is Jack Goldstone's book on innovation and the rise of the West.
The conference brought together a small group of leading scholars to participate in roundtable discussions arranged around portions of the manuscript. The idea is to offer feedback to scholars as they prepare manuscripts for publication, and in this case engage the conversation surrounding the rise of the West in light of Goldstone's contribution.
