Antony Dnes

Antony Dnes is an affiliated senior scholar at the Mercatus Center at George Mason University. His primary research interests are in the economics of law and regulation. Between 2004 and 2011, Dr. Dnes has held a Chair in Economics at the University of Hull in the UK, and has been a Visiting Professor at the University of San Diego (2010-2011).

He also held an internationally awarded Leverhulme Fellowship, for work in law and economics based in the US 2009-2011, and wrote a major comparative review of US and UK copyright law for the UK Intellectual Property Office in 2011.

Dr. Dnes held earlier appointments at the Virginia Tech, the University of St Andrews, and the University of Edinburgh, and has been an invited visitor at the University Oxford's Wolfson College, Monash University in Australia, the University of Florida, Harbin Institute of Technology, China, and the Central European University, Budapest. He has completed consulting work for private firms, government agencies and international organizations, and  is the author of several books and over 40 journal articles, all with a regulatory focus.  He holds an LLB from the University of London, and a Ph.D. in economics from the University of Edinburgh.
