Avery E. Holton

Avery Holton is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Communication at the University of Utah, where his research focuses on the intersection of journalism and innovations. He has more than 30 peer-reviewed publications in journals such as Communication Theory, Communication Inquiry, Mass Communication & Society, and Journalism Studies. He was a William Powers Fellow at the University of Texas at Austin, where he received his PhD in 2013, and currently co-teaches a course on drone innovation in the Honors College at the University of Utah.
