Todd Zywicki

George Mason University Foundation Professor of Law, Antonin Scalia Law School, George Mason University

Please join Mercatus Center senior scholar and George Mason University School of Law professor Todd Zywicki for lunch and a discussion on the rule of law.

Politicians and policymakers often invoke crisis to rationalize governmental discretion and to waive the rule of law. In the aftermath of the financial meltdown, we have realized that crisis is the most important time to tie government’s hands using the bonds of the law.

As a legal expert and member of the Mercatus Center’s Financial Markets Working Group, Todd will discuss how important it is to restrain politicians from using the crisis to pursue their own self-interest or unleashing rent seeking by special interest groups - both of which dampen economic recovery and long-term economic growth.

This is not a fundraising event, and there is no charge to join us. We are pleased to have you as our guest to show our thanks and appreciation to our donors. Dress is business casual. Please invite friends or associates who might be interested.

To RSVP for yourself and your guests, please contact Ashley Schiller at 703-993-9228 or aschille@gmu.edu by April 13
