Garrett Brown

Garrett Brown is the Senior Director of Publications at the Mercatus Center at George Mason University. He has more than 20 years of experience working for both commercial and nonprofit book publishers.

Before joining Mercatus in 2012, Mr. Brown was an editor in the book division of the National Geographic Society, where he acquired and developed books on a wide range of topics, from science and natural history to religion, and formats, from atlases and illustrated references to narrative nonfiction.

Mr. Brown received his BA in English language and literature from the University of California, San Diego, and his MA in English from the University of Virginia, where he concentrated his studies on 18th-century British literature.
