Michael Kotrous is a PhD student in John Munro Godfrey, Sr. Department of Economics at the University of Georgia. His research interests include regulatory processes, technological innovation, and entrepreneurship, and his writings have appeared in USA Today and U.S. News & World Report.

He was formerly a program manager at Mercatus, managing research projects that focused on regulatory processes, technological innovation, and entrepreneurship. Michael earned his B.A. in Economics and Journalism–Advertising at Creighton University in 2015 and M.A. in Economics at the University of Georgia in 2023.
