Kadambari Shah

Kadambari Shah is a Research Associate with the Indian Political Economy program at the Mercatus Center. Her focus areas are state capacity, urban policy, and gender. Previously, she worked at the Energy Policy Institute at the University of Chicago and at IDFC Institute. Her projects have spanned various engagements with the Indian government at the central, state, and local level, as well as with state police forces. Kadambari has written several reports and papers based on quantitative and qualitative research. Her research has been featured in various media outlets including the World Economic Forum, Quartz, Hindustan Times, and Indian Express. She holds a Masters in International Development and Policy from the Harris School of Public Policy, University of Chicago, a postgraduate degree in Economics and Finance from the Meghnad Desai Academy of Economics, and a Bachelor of Arts degree (Economics and English Literature, Honors) from St. Xavier’s College (Autonomous), Mumbai.
