Prakhar Misra

Prakhar Misra is a Ph.D. student at Johns Hopkins University. He was a Research Associate with the Indian Political Economy program at the Mercatus Center. His research focusses on state capacity and Indian political economy. He is also an Advisory Board Member of Commonwealth Drone Partnership.

Previously, he was Senior Associate at IDFC Institute and led the Data Governance Network. He wrote policy papers and co-ordinated submissions of the Network to various policies of the central government and various state governments in India. Prior to IDFC Institute, he has worked on setting up a microfinance institution for the Roma in Eastern Europe and completed the Teach For India and Swaniti fellowships.

Prakhar was a Chevening Scholar reading for a Master’s in Public Policy at the University of Oxford. He also completed a postgraduate degree in Economics and Finance from the Meghnad Desai Academy of Economics where he was a Chanakya Scholar; and holds a Bachelors in Engineering from Ramaiah Institute of Technology.
