Thomas Ressler

Manager of Foundation Relations

Thomas Ressler is a Manager of Foundation Relations on the Development team at the Mercatus Center. Previously, he served the center as the Federal Outreach Associate for Financial Regulation and Monetary Policy.

Prior to joining Mercatus, Ressler worked as a financial journalist and editor for a specialized newsletter publishing company in the Washington, DC area. In that capacity, he covered mortgage lending and servicing, the structured finance industry, and financial regulation, along with Federal Reserve monetary policy and consumer protection issues from the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau.

Ressler studied communications at Clarion State College in Clarion, PA, and received his Bachelor's degree in English from the University of Pittsburgh. He did his graduate work at Northeastern University's School of Journalism in Boston, and at American University in Washington, DC.

In his spare time, Ressler studies Austrian economics, libertarian philosophical thought, and public choice theory; plays jazz guitar; maintains an active interest in physical fitness, meditation, and martial arts; and searches for the perfect pocket square.
