Sargis Karavardanyan

Sargis Karavardanyan is a PhD student in political science at the University of California, Irvine. His research interests include political economy and research methodology. In particular, he is interested in the mechanisms that cause democratization and regime change in weak states of the global south. Sargis earned an MA in political science from California State University, Northridge, and a BA in political science from the University of California, Los Angeles. He was a Mercatus Center Adam Smith Fellow during the 2019-2020 and 2021-2022 academic years, and he was also a Don Lavoie Fellow during the 2020-2021 academic year.
