Miranda Chase is an Assistant Professor at San Diego State University. She earned a PhD in Global Governance & Human Security from the University of Massachusetts Boston, an MA in Integrated Water Management from the University of Queensland, and a BA in International Relations from the University of Brasilia. She was a Don Lavoie Fellow during the 2020-21 academic year, a Frédéric Bastiat Fellow during the 2018-19 academic year, and an Adam Smith Fellow during the 2017-18 academic year. Her research investigates how social movements influence policymakers. She is interested in the political economy of natural resources and the collective action challenges that arise from managing them.
