Dr. Benjamin Powell is a professor of economics at Texas Tech University. He is also the Director of the Free Market Institute at Texas Tech University and a Senior Fellow at the Independent Institute. Prior to this, Ben was an associate professor of economics at Suffolk University, an assistant professor of economics at San Jose State University, and the Director of the Center on Entrepreneurial Innovation at the Independent Institute.
Dr. Powell earned his PhD from George Mason University in 2003, where he studied Austrian Economics and Public Choice Theory. While at George Mason University, Ben was a Mercatus PhD Fellow.
