Mercatus Scholars Mitchell and Al-Ubaydli Appointed To Virginia Gov. Bob McDonnell's Joint Advisory Board of Economists

Mercatus Center scholars Matthew Mitchell and Omar Al-Ubaydli have been appointed to Virginia Gov. Bob McDonnell's Joint Advisory Board of Economists. Mitchell and Al-Ubaydli will advise the Governor on how to achieve fiscal stability in the state and spur economic growth across Virginia.

Mitchell is a research fellow on the Mercatus Center's State and Local Policy Project, specializing on spending and budget issues in the states.

Al-Ubaydli is a research fellow at the Mercatus Center and assistant professor of economics at George Mason University. His research focus is on experimental economics, political economy, and the economics of science.

Maurice McTigue, the Mercatus Center's vice president and distinguished visiting scholar, currently sits on Governor McDonnell's Commission on Government Reform and Restructuring.
