Chicago Supporter and Friend Lunch

Event Speakers

Matthew D. Mitchell

Senior Research Fellow

Please join Mercatus Center senior research fellow Matthew Mitchell and Illinois Policy Institute vice president of policy Ted Dabrowski for a lunch and discussion on the spending problems our states are facing.

With the exploding Medicaid and pension costs, the prospects for improving our states' economies must be addressed. States face unsustainable deficits fueled by government spending. Matt will give a national perspective, explaining the shared problems and trends that many states face as their budget woes threaten to engulf them. Ted will take a close look at Illinois’ fiscal crisis, where structural budget and pension problems drive the ballooning deficit. Both will offer possible solutions to restrain spending.

This is not a fundraising event and there is no charge to join us. We are pleased to have you as our guest to show our thanks and appreciation to our donors. Dress is business casual. Please invite friends or associates who might be interested.

To RSVP for yourself and your guests, please contact Ashley Schiller at 703-993-9228 or aschille@gmu.edu.
