New York City Supporter and Friend Lunch
Event Speakers
Donald J. Boudreaux
Please join Mercatus Center senior education advisor Donald J. Boudreaux for lunch and a discussion on the dangers of cronyism.
Recent headlines have demonstrated the expanse of cronyism, from Solyndra to pension-spiking by workers on the Long Island Railroad. Don will explain why cronyism takes place using the lens of public choice economics, a form of economic analysis made famous by Nobel-prize winning economist, George Mason’s own James Buchanan. Don will demonstrate the pervasiveness of cronyism and recommend some ways it can be combated.
