May 25, 2010
12:00pm1:30pm

Mercatus Center supporters and friends are invited to an invitation only, special event in New York, NY, a lunch featuring:

Russ Roberts
J. Fish & Lillian F. Smith Professor of Economics at the Mercatus Center at George Mason University

Tuesday, May 25, 2010
Keen's Steakhouse
72 West 36th Street
New York, NY
Noon to 1:30 PM

At this event, Russ will speak about the future of capitalism. With taxpayer bailouts of well-connected corporations, the U.S. has descended into crony capitalism. He will point the way back to free enterprise while answering some questions about what caused this shift.

About Russ Roberts:
Russ is not just an economist, but an innovative communicator of economic knowledge—through novels, commentary on National Public Radio, and more. Russ has authored three popular books, The Invisible Heart: An Economic Romance, The Choice: A Fable of Free Trade and Protectionism, and The Price of Everything.  The Choice was named one of the top ten books of 1994 by Business Week and one of the best books of 1994 by the Financial Times. In addition to his position at the Mercatus Center, Russ is also a research fellow at Stanford University's Hoover Institution and the features editor of the Library of Economics and Liberty.

There is no charge for those who have received an invitation by mail. Dress is business casual. We encourage you to bring a friend or associate who might be interested in our work at the Mercatus Center.
