Is there a unique Austrian School of Economics that represents a viable research program in modern economics? Peter Boettke locates the intellectual position and opportunities for mutually beneficial exchange between Austrian economists and the mainstream of economic teaching and research, and argues that though economic research has progresses tremendously in an Austrian direction over the past two decades, there remains areas where the Austrian approach has not be absorbed into the mainstream and thus provides opportunities for future growth.
