Bentley Coffey is a visiting assistant professor at Duke University and an assistant research professor at the University of South Carolina. His broad research interests span three areas: energy and the environment; factors that stimulate growth (competition and innovation); and factors that reinforce poverty (e.g., discrimination, discounting, and risk). Before joining the University of South Carolina, Coffey was an assistant professor at Clemson University and then served as a senior economist at the Cadmus Group, an environmental consulting firm. He holds a PhD in economics from Duke University.
