Brian Hooks

Brian Hooks is president of the Charles Koch Foundation and the Charles Koch Institute where he works to support research and educational programs that advance an understanding and realization of the factors that help people improve their lives and the lives of those around them.

Prior to joining the Charles Koch Foundation, Mr. Hooks was executive director and chief operating officer of the Mercatus Center at George Mason University from 2005 until 2014.

Mr. Hooks joined Mercatus in 2000. Prior to taking on the COO role, he was director of the Global Prosperity Initiative and Social Change Project and helped to develop and manage the Enterprise Africa! project that examined the role that entrepreneurship plays in economics development.

Mr. Hooks holds a BA from the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor.
