Matthew Mittelsteadt is a research fellow and technologist for the AI and Progress Project whose work focuses on artificial intelligence and cybersecurity policy. Before joining Mercatus, he was a fellow at the Institute of Security, Policy, and Law where wrote on AI judicial policy and arms control. His work has been cited in Politico, The Hill, Bloomberg, and Foreign Policy. He holds a BA in economics from St. Olaf College, an MPA from Syracuse University, and an MS in Cybersecurity from New York University.
