Austrian Economics: Methodology, Concepts, and Implications for Economic Education

This essay has two purposes. First, it hopes to give the reader a flavor of what is generally meant by “Austrian economics.” Secondly, this paper wants to draw attention to the ways in which an understanding of Austrian economics can improve not only our understanding of social phenomena but also the practice of economic education.

First, it hopes to give the reader a flavor of what is generally meant by “Austrian economics.” Secondly, this paper wants to draw attention to the ways in which an understanding of Austrian economics can improve not only our understanding of social phenomena but also the practice of economic education. In addition, this paper hopes to provide readers of the Journal of Economics and Finance Education who are unfamiliar with Austrian economics sufficient context to understand and enjoy the articles contained in this special issue.
