Witnesses testified on the condition of small business and commercial real estate lending in local markets. The Obama Administration proposed transferring $30 billion dollars from the Troubled Asset Relief Program into a new federal fund to support lending for small business, known as the Small Business Lending Fund (SBLF). Several members of the panel of small business owners and business groups said the Small Business Administration should lend small business money directly. This was the first of three panels.
