This project, released on July 11, compares the financial health of the 50 states through their Comprehensive Annual Financial Reports. The presentation covered how the states are ranked and why. Additionally, Mercatus expert Eileen Norcross will responded to audience questions during the broadcast.

Featured Speakers

Eileen Norcross is a Senior Research Fellow at the Mercatus Center at George Mason University. As director for the Mercatus Center’s State and Local Policy Project, she focuses on questions of public finance and how economic institutions support or hamper economic resiliency and civil society. She specializes in fiscal federalism and institutions, state and local government finance, public sector pensions, public administration, and economic development.

Karen M. Czarnecki is the Vice President for Outreach for the Mercatus Center at George Mason University.
