Dr. Russ Roberts
Professor of Economics
George Mason University

A recent report from the Congressional Research Service identifies nearly 30 causes of the financial crisis, ranging from imprudent mortgage lending to human frailty. While all of the identified causes may be relevant, the housing market played a central part in the story of the crisis.

Russ Roberts will lead a discussion about how much we know about housing policy and the financial crisis, what factors led us to the edge of the crisis, and how we can move forward in the future.

Russ is not just an economist, but an innovative communicator of economic knowledge-through novels, commentary on National Public Radio, and more. Russ has authored three popular books, The Invisible Heart: An Economic Romance, The Choice: A Fable of Free Trade and Protectionism, and The Price of Everything. The Choice was named one of the top ten books of 1994 by Business Week and one of the best books of 1994 by the Financial Times.

We have limited space for this event, so please r.s.v.p. to reserve your place!
