On June 1, Dr. Bruce Yandle released his latest quarterly economic report in which he compares the United States’ current economic situation to a roller coaster. Between productivity levels, tax reform, and increased adoption of automation in the work force, there are a lot of factors creating this uncertain ride.

Please join the Mercatus Center at George Mason University for a presentation by Dr. Bruce Yandle, Distinguished Adjunct Professor of Economics at Mercatus and Dean Emeritus at Clemson University. Dr. Yandle will review his June 2017 report and discuss:

  • The role of rising inflation rates;
  • The economic impact of the corporate tax rate, robotics, and the carbon prohibition; and
  • Economic differences between states and regions, with a special analysis of Oregon.
