From the revolutionaries of the 'Arab Spring' to the central bankers of the industrialized world to President Barack Obama and members of the Bush administration, Foreign Policy has assembled their list of "The Top 100 Global Thinkers of 2011."
Among those selected, we are pleased to count General Director of the Mercatus Center, Holbert C. Harris Chair of Economics at George Mason University, and New York Times columnist Tyler Cowen.
Professor Cowen's selection stems from a broad array of accomplishments and interests, including his recent e-book The Great Stagnation, as well as his role as co-author of one of the internet's most popular economics blogs, Marginal Revolution.
Continuing its tradition of bridging the gap between academic ideas and real world problems, the Mercatus Center is proud to join Foreign Policy in celebrating Professor Cowen's exceptional ability to translate complex economic concepts to many audiences in order to advance knowledge about how markets work to improve our lives, and to apply sound economics to offer solutions to society's most pressing problems.
