A Review of John E. King's "The Alternative Austrian Economics"

The notion of “Austrian economics” as a distinct school of thought is currently almost universally associated with the intellectual lineage running from Carl Menger and Ludwig von Mises to F. A. Hayek and Israel Kirzner. This influential and resilient school (that happens to be one of those cases in which the name of a social science paradigm is given by its location of origin) is also associated, by all those familiar with the intellectual history of the twentieth century, with the marginal revolution in economics, with methodological and normative individualism and –when it comes to its normative-ideological dimension – mainly with the classical liberal tradition.
