Aris Trantidis

Aris Trantidis was a postdoctoral fellow for the F. A. Hayek Program for Advanced Study in Philosophy, Politics, and Economics during the 2015-2016 academic year. He is a Visiting Lecturer at King’s College London, the Department of Political Economy. Aris studied at the London School of Economics, Queen Mary University of London, Surrey, Athens and Thessaloniki, Greece. His research interests lie in political economy and comparative politics. Aris has published on the linkage between economic structure and semi-authoritarian regimes and has developed the concept of political hegemony for empirical research and positive analysis. His current work studies the impact of clientelist politics on the design of economic reforms with a special focus on Greece. In 2009 he received the St. Gallen Symposium Wings of Excellence Award for his paper on the political challenges of the 2008 financial crisis.
