Walter Stover

Python Developer

Walter Stover is a Python Developer with the Mercatus Center at George Mason University. Walter graduated from Allegheny College with a BA in economics and a minor in Chinese Studies. He primarily works with the Policy Analytics team at Mercatus as a software developer and data engineer, and recently completed a stay at the Institute of Public Affairs in Melbourne, Australia as part of a cooperative effort between Mercatus and the IPA. While there, Walter adapted the RegData tool developed by the Policy Analytics team to collect and analyze the regulatory text of the Australian federated states. Besides applying data analytics and other computational methodologies to economic problems, Walter is also interested in researching technology policy, especially the topic of artificial intelligence. He was a Mercatus Center MA Fellow.
