Ryan Hauser is a Research Fellow at the Mercatus Center at George Mason University. His research focuses on the governance of emerging technologies, particularly artificial intelligence, and the intersection of science, policy, and society.  

Prior to joining Mercatus, Hauser worked as a writer and editor in Washington, DC, supporting organizations in public policy, philanthropy, and financial services. He is an alumnus of the Mercatus Center’s Frédéric Bastiat Fellowship and the Diverse Intelligences Summer Institute.  

Hauser is currently pursuing graduate studies in the history and philosophy of science and technology at Virginia Tech and George Mason University. His academic work centers on interdisciplinary questions related to risk, rationality, and norms in scientific and technological development.
