Shriya Thakkar

Shriya Thakkar is a PhD/JD student in Sociology at Louisiana State University. She earned an MA in Gender Studies from Utrecht University and an MSc and a BSc in Anthropology Anthropology from the University of Delhi. Her research focuses on mental health outcomes for older adults in the United States. In particular, she is interested in better understanding the cumulative impact of successive disaster events on the depressive symptoms of the aging population in the US and the links between social capital and mental health outcomes following disaster events.
