Hester Peirce

As implementation of the Dodd-Frank Act continues, American financial institutions are grappling with dramatic changes in the structure of financial regulation. The full weight of those regulatory changes, however, is not likely to be distributed evenly across the financial sector. The size of an individual can play a significant role in determining how heavily regulatory burdens fall. A forthcoming Mercatus Center survey of small banks sheds light on how Dodd-Frank is affecting smaller institutions.
