Shuster's Highway Funding Plan Would Boost Taxes Now, for Transportation Tax Reform Later

Rep. Bill Shuster, R-Pa., has suggested an interested solution to America's continued infrastructural problems. The bill would raise the fuel tax in the short-term, but abolish the tax entirely within ten years, and create an independent commission to suggest an alternative funding mechanism for the future. Mercatus scholar Tracy Miller argues that Shuster's proposal is worth attention at Investor's Business Daily.
