Dino Falaschetti

Dino Falaschetti was a Senior Research Fellow and the Director of Outreach for Financial and Economic Policy for the Mercatus Center at George Mason University.  

He specialized in financial and business strategy and has managed Fortune 100 audit-engagements and corporate finance operations and led an economic research institute.

Falaschetti was formerly senior economist for the Council of Economic Advisers under President George W. Bush. In addition, he held faculty appointments in business, economics, finance, law, and policy at the University of California at Berkeley, Florida State University, Montana State University, Seattle University, Stanford University, University of Tennessee, University of Texas at Arlington, and Washington University in St. Louis.

His publications include articles in leading scholarly journals, such as the American Law and Economics Review, Journal of Law, Economics, and Organization, and the University of Pennsylvania Journal of Business Law. He is also the coeditor of Political Economy: Critical Concepts (Routledge, 2011) and the author of Democratic Governance and Economic Performance: How Accountability Can Go Too Far in Politics, Law, and Business (Studies in Public Choice, 2009) and Money, Financial Intermediation, and Governance (Edward Elgar Pub, 2008).

 Falaschetti earned a PhD in economics from Washington University in St. Louis, an MBA with high honors from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business, and a BS with distinction from the Indiana University Kelley School of Business.
