Dr. Israel Kirzner is Professor Emeritus of Economics, New York University. In 2006, Dr. Kirzner received the FSF-Nutek Award for his contribution to the understanding of entrepreneurship and small firms as well as the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Society for the Development of Austrian Economics. Furthermore, Dr. Kirzner received the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Fund for the Study of Spontaneous Order for his pioneering work on the theory of the entrepreneurial market process in 2013.  Dr. Kirzner's contribution to our understanding of the dynamics of capitalist processes is without question. For over three decades Kirzner has refined and deepened our appreciation of the significance of entrepreneurial discovery for the complex plan coordination characterizing smoothly-operating market economies.
