Ali Ahmed is a first year PhD student in the Department of Economics at George Mason University. Ali earned a BA in economics from Alma College and a degree in political economy from King’s College London. His academic interests include constitutional political economy, the confluence of informal and formal institutions, and health economics.  Previously, he was a program manager for Academic & Student Programs with the Mercatus Center at George Mason University. He is an alum of the Mercatus Frédéric Bastiat Fellowship.
