Chikondi Mandala is a PhD student in Law at the University of Kent. She earned an LLM from Harvard University and an LLB from the University of Malawi. Her research investigates and critiques the gender dimensions and colonial understandings of development in Malawi. In particular, she analyzes Malawi’s Customary Land Act of 2016 and its normative path for the creation of a market economy.
