Gerardo Rodriguez Solis is a PhD student in Anthropology at the University of California, Santa Barbara. He earned an MA in Social Anthropology from El Colegio de Michoacan and a BA in Sociology from Universidad de Guadalajara. His research is focused on the private and federal social policies implemented as labor and migration control strategies toward racialized farmworkers. In particular, he uses ethnographic methods to study these control strategies as they have been implemented toward farmworkers who seasonally inhabit agrarian capitalist camps of Mexican-U.S. corporations in Hermosillo, Sonora.
