Todd Maslyk is a PhD student in Germanic Languages and Literatures at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. He earned an MSE and a BS in Engineering & Germanic Languages and Literatures from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. He was an Adam Smith Fellow during the 2021-2022 and 2022-2023 academic years. His research interests include the history of legal knowledge exchange between Germany and Japan from around 1868 until 1945. In particular, it examines the institutional and cultural context involved in the exchange, as well as the way in which it impacted the way that participants theorized about constitutional law.
