Yun Yang is a PhD student in Applied Intercultural Arts Research at the University of Arizona. She earned an MA in Arts from Beijing Dance Acedemy and a BA in Arts from Yunnan Normal University. Her research evaluates and compares the relative effects of improvisational and choreographic dance for older adults with Mild Cognitive Impairment. In particular, her dissertation focuses on the impact of creative improvisational dance and choreographed “Body Percussion” on attention, short-term and long-term memory, creativity, and positive well-being.
