Mercatus Welcomes Brett Doyle As Managing Director of Outreach

The Mercatus Center at George Mason University is pleased to announce that Brett Doyle is joining Mercatus as the Managing Director for Outreach. In this role, Doyle will oversee the Center’s educational outreach to policymakers and staff at the local, state, and federal level.

Doyle brings years of experience from both Capitol Hill and the executive branch to this role. He served as a legislative assistant in the Office of Senator Pat Toomey (R-PA) for four years before working as a policy analyst with the US Senate Republican Policy Committee. He held senior policy roles in the Office of the US Trade Representative and at the Environmental Protection Agency. During the pandemic, he served as a Senior Advisor to Sen. Toomey on the Covid-19 Congressional Oversight Committee. Most recently, Doyle was the Director of Government Relations at Sylvamo Corporation, a global paper manufacturer. Doyle holds a BA from Lafayette College and a graduate diploma from the US Naval War College.

As a university-based research center at George Mason, Mercatus seeks to bridge the gap between academic research and policy problems by advancing an understanding of the economics of public policy. Mercatus scholars conduct research, identify talent and train students around the world, and share research findings with the media, policymakers, and fellow academics.
