Dr. Brianne Wolf is Assistant Professor of Political Theory and Director of the Political Economy minor at James Madison College at Michigan State University. 

She holds a BA in political theory and constitutional democracy from James Madison College of Public Affairs at Michigan State University, an MA in the social sciences from the University of Chicago, and an MA and PhD in political science from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She specializes in the history of political thought with a focus on the Scottish and French Enlightenments, liberalism, moral judgment, and the interaction between economics and politics. 

She has published numerous articles in journals such as History of Political Thought, Review of Politics, Polity, Political Science Reviewer, and various edited volumes. Her current project, “Beyond Rights and Price: Liberalism with Taste”, explores the role of taste as a supplement to market relations and the legal framework of rights, fostering the moral possibilities of commercial society and the emotional connections between citizens that are necessary for a robust liberal politics.
