Rosolino Candela is a Program Director of Academic & Student Programs and a Senior Fellow with the F. A. Hayek Program for Advanced Study in Philosophy, Politics, and Economics at the Mercatus Center at George Mason University, where he also holds an appointment as Affiliate Faculty in the Department of Economics. He is also a Visiting Professor of Economics at Universidad Francisco Marroquín as well as a Visiting Fellow in the Department of Political and Social Sciences at the European University Institute. 

He holds a PhD in Economics from George Mason University, an MA in Economics and International Political Economy & Development from Fordham University, and a BA in History and Philosophy from St. John's University. He is an alum of the Mercatus PhD Fellowship, the JIN Fellowship, and the Humane Studies Fellowship. 

He serves as Co-Editor-In-Chief of ‘The Review of Austrian Economics’ and as Associate Editor of the ‘Journal of Public Finance and Public Choice’. Formerly, he was a Postdoctoral Research Associate in Political Theory and a lecturer of economics at Brown University. 

Candela's research interests include Austrian economics, Public Choice, and Development Economics. He has recently published The Historical Path to Liberty and Human Progress (Universidad Francisco Marroquín Press, 2025) with Peter Boettke, and The Socialist Calculation Debate: Theory, History, and Contemporary Relevance (Cambridge University Press, 2024) with Peter Boettke and Tegan Truitt.
